Adopting Natural Health Approaches - A Necessary Step Towards Taking Charge of Our Own Health
Most of us were raised in modern environments living modern lifestyles. Modern generations are completely detached from their ancestral (cave man type life-style and diets). Our current conventional approaches to health is based on reliance on therapeutic interventions from experts (health-care providers - doctors, nurses, etc. ) when we get diseased, i.e., we play a passive role in our own health.
Natural health approaches are grounded in the philosophy which holds that, the human body has the capability of healing itself. In natural health, all healing is essentially self-healing, a basic property of all living beings. Unfortunately, the human generations of modernity have lost this inherent ability to live in harmony with nature and utilizing nature’s fundamentals that build and maintain health. Most if not all non-humans living organisms, however still preserved the ability to utilize nature’s fundamentals that build and maintain health. This explains the basis of survival and well-being of animals and other non-human organisms, living freely in their natural habitats. Therefore, in the case of humans, in particular of the modern generations, there is need to make every effort to learn, understand and employ natural health approaches as enablers of our ability to take control of our own health to achieve optimum health, vitality and wellness.
From personal experiences of fighting my own degenerative health problems, and searching for optimum health, vitality and wellness, I came to realize that, natural health approaches are better understood effortlessly from the natural hygiene literature (the philosophy, the principles and practice). One of my favorite point of reference is the study course material from, the Transformation Institute, School of Natural Hygiene (2000), which explains natural hygiene as a philosophy of life. Natural health messaging grounded in the natural hygiene philosophy, principles and practices, is a powerful knowledge-base tool which plays an enabling role in helping us take charge of our own health. Here is a classic example of natural health messaging through the natural hygiene philosophy, principles, and practices, as enablers of the process of taking charge of one’s own health, as perfectly laid down by the Transformation Institute, School of Natural Hygiene (2000).

1. “Natural Hygiene recognizes that the human body is a fully selfsufficient organism, that it is self-directing, self-constructing, self-preserving and self-healing, and that it is capable of maintaining itself in superb functioning order, completely free of disease, if its inherent needs are met. Foremost among these needs are fresh air, pure water, rest and sleep, wholesome foods, cleanliness, comfortable temperature, sunshine, exercise, constructive work, emotional poise, self-mastery, recreation and pleasant environment.”
2. “Self-Government In All Organisms: Simple observation of the development
of complex organisms from the union of sperm and ovum is indicative that the powers of life reside within. Without anything from the outside other than needed raw materials, the organism has the inner direction to fashion itself from a fertilized ovum into a mature adult.
This implies an inherent character that embraces the following capabilities:
• Organisms are self-programmed.
• Organisms are self-directing or self-governing.
• Organisms are self-sufficient when their material requisites are available.
• Organisms are self-constructing in accord with their genetic blueprint.
• Organisms are self-defensive and preservative, defending themselves against all internal and external threats.
• Organisms are self-repairing or self-healing and possess solely and exclusively the faculties and powers to accomplish ultimate restoration in event of damage or derangement.
These faculties and powers are self-evident upon the simplest observation of yourself or other organisms”.
From the two excepts of natural hygiene philosophical concepts and/or principles provided above, it is clear that, in order to take charge of our health, all we need as modern day humans (lay persons and conventional/mainstream health-care or medical care professionals/experts included), to learn and understand the fundamentals of natural health/natural hygiene.
If you are not yet into it, get started right away, right now!
Happy New Year!!!
